Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need to believe in this for it to work?

No. You don’t need to hold any particular belief system. Many people come with curiosity rather than certainty. This work does not require you to be spiritual, experienced, or knowledgeable — just open enough to explore.

What if I’m feeling sceptical?

That’s completely okay. Healthy curiosity and gentle scepticism can exist together. You don’t need to silence your logical mind to explore something new. You are welcome exactly as you are.

Will I have to share personal details?

Only what feels comfortable. You are never required to relive painful memories or explain your past in detail. The process remains respectful, contained, and confidential, allowing the work to unfold without pressure.

What information do I need to provide before a session?

Before your session, you will be asked to complete a simple booking form. This includes your name, email address, age, and up to two issues or symptoms you would like support with, along with a brief description of each. There is no need to share more than you wish to — just enough to gently guide the focus of the session.

How will I know if this is right for me?

Often, it simply feels like a quiet nudge. You might resonate with the language. You might feel curious. You might feel unsure but drawn. That gentle pull is usually enough to begin. There is no pressure to commit long-term.

Can this be a replacement for therapy or medical care?

No. This work is complementary and supportive. It is not intended to diagnose, treat, or replace professional medical or psychological care.

How many sessions should I book?

There is no fixed number. Some people explore a single session to see how it feels. Others prefer a bundle to work through layers more steadily. We can move at a pace that feels supportive to you, not rushed.

Is this suitable for children and animals?

Yes. Because the process is gentle and non-invasive, it can be adapted for children and animals with sensitivity and care.

Why are sessions only offered remotely?

Emotion Code and Body Code sessions can be carried out both in person and remotely. These modalities are designed to work with the body's subconscious awareness and energetic systems, which are not limited by physical distance. At this time, I offer sessions remotely via email or Zoom. This allows clients to receive support from the comfort of their own home, wherever they are in the world. Many people also find they feel more relaxed and at ease in a familiar environment, which can support the process.

Why do you ask for my consent before a session?

Before any session begins, I ask for your permission to act as your proxy and work with your energy field. Consent is important because this work respects your personal boundaries and your body’s natural intelligence. Your permission simply confirms that you feel comfortable for the session to take place and for the process to gently explore what your system may be ready to address. Nothing is ever done without your awareness or agreement, and the session always moves at a pace guided by what your body feels ready for. During sessions, simple yes-or-no questions allow the body’s subconscious awareness to guide what may be ready to be released.

Why is a magnet used during sessions? And how does it work?

A small magnet is gently passed along the governing meridian — an energy pathway that runs over the head and down the spine. There are two helpful ways to understand this. From a more scientific perspective, the body is not only biochemical — it is also bioelectrical. Every thought, emotion, and organ function involves subtle electrical activity. Magnets interact with electrical fields, so when used intentionally, the magnet acts like a signal carrier — similar to how a magnetic strip on a card holds information, and when swiped or reset, that information can be cleared or rewritten. In this work, the magnet helps communicate to the subconscious that it is safe to release what has been identified. From an energetic perspective, the governing meridian is recognised in Traditional Chinese Medicine as a central channel that influences the body’s overall energy flow. In this process, it serves as the pathway through which that release message is delivered. The magnet itself does not heal you. It is simply a tool. Your body does the healing. The magnet helps carry the intention — and when your system is ready, it lets go.

What happens after a session?

Besides receiving your detailed session notes via email, most people simply continue their day as normal. Some like to move gently and give themselves a little extra care while their system integrates the work. You may find it helpful to: • Drink plenty of water • Rest if you feel tired • Eat nourishing food • Take a gentle walk or stretch • Listen to what your body needs There are no strict rules — just gentle awareness.

What might I experience afterwards?

Everyone processes differently. Some people feel relaxed, lighter, or clearer. Others may feel tired for a short while as their body integrates the release. You might notice subtle physical sensations, emotional shifts, deeper sleep, vivid dreams, or simply feel no different at all. All of this can be completely normal. Healing does not always look dramatic. Sometimes it unfolds quietly over time. If at any point something feels concerning, you are always encouraged to seek appropriate medical advice.

What if I don’t feel anything during or after the session?

That can happen — and it does not mean the session “didn’t work.” Healing isn’t always dramatic. Sometimes changes integrate quietly over days or weeks. Sometimes awareness shifts gently rather than intensely. There is no right or wrong response.

Can feelings or symptoms come back after it has been released?

Sometimes people notice lasting shifts after a release, while at other times a feeling or symptom may return in some form. This does not necessarily mean the work has not been helpful. Emotional patterns can exist in layers, and the body may continue processing related experiences over time. Occasionally, people may also notice temporary “echoes” of the emotion that was released as the system adjusts and integrates the change. In some cases, the subconscious may still hold beliefs or protective patterns that developed over time to help you feel safe. As awareness grows and further layers are gently addressed, many people find these patterns gradually soften.

What if I’m afraid to try?

That’s very human. Trying something new — especially something that involves emotional or energetic work — can feel vulnerable. You are welcome to start slowly. Even booking a short taster session can simply be a way to explore safely.
